Carolyn Lou Massey Rains, 85, passed away August 3, 2018.

She was a life-long resident of Anderson and retired from GM after 30 years of service.  She loved yard work, she took her dogs for a daily walk, she went to all her grandkids’ ball games, she wintered in Florida for years, and loved to have her family visit.  Her favorite lunch buddies included her cousin, Bob Gray, his kids, Jeff, Lonnie, Brian, LeAnn, and Andy, and son-in-law, Randy Barker.

Survivors include her sons, Jack Rains, Donald (Lori) Rains, Robert C. (Ronda) Rains, Lester Rains, and Ronald (Lisa) Rains of Sweetser, Indiana; daughter, Dena Lucas; brother, Bill (Marjorie) Massey; grandkids, David Swafford, Joe Connelly, Mrs. Carolyn Marie Golabowski, Trevor Rains, Jessica Rains, Mrs. Kayla Murray, Katie Rains, Robert Spencer Rains, Christopher Walters, Mrs. Suprina Rains Pilgrim, Donald  Rains, Jr., Alea Rains, Mrs. Emma (Joe) Rains  Martin, Mrs. Kelly Draper, Mrs. Jennifer Rains Arms, Michael Rains, Ryan Rains, Matt Rains, and  Chloe Dione Rains.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Rains in 2001; her brother, Bob Massey in 1991; mother, Madonna Massey in 1993; father, Robert C. Massey in 1958; great-grandson Kile Swafford in 2017; son-in-law, Robert Lucas in 2013; son-in-law, William Prather in 2001; and son-in-law, Kermit Barnes in 1998.

A celebration of her life will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. August 18, 2018, at Millcreek Civic Center, Chesterfield, Indiana.  A service will be held at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor John Ray officiating.
